The Town of Henlopen Acres Election will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Voter Registration:

If you would like to vote in the upcoming election, please ensure you register to vote before Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 4:30 pm. Please fill out this Voter Registration Form and submit it to Town Clerk Kayla Adkins.

Qualifications to Vote:

Resident: Every citizen of the United States, State of Delaware, and Town of Henlopen Acres who is a bona fide resident of the Town of Henlopen Acres for 30 days prior to the date of the annual election of the Town of Henlopen Acres, and is over the age of 18, shall be entitled to one vote, provided such person is registered on the Books Of Registered Voters.

Nonresident: Every nonresident real property owner, whether a person, or artificial entity, qualifying as a real property owner for a period of 30 days immediately preceding the date of the Annual Municipal Election of the Town of Henlopen Acres, and is over the age of 18, shall have one vote. An artificial entity shall vote by a person named in a certificate, filed for each election with the Town of Henlopen Acres, providing legal authorization for the person to vote on behalf of the artificial entity in the Annual Municipal Election. The person authorized to vote on behalf of an entity shall be a citizen of the United States and at least 18 years old.

 

Absentee Ballot: 

Absentee ballots are available from the Town Clerk and must be received at Town Hall no later than 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 31, 2024. The deadline to request an absentee ballot packet in person at Town Hall is 12:00 noon on Friday, August 30, 2024. The deadline to request an absentee ballot packet to be sent by mail is Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. Please fill out this Absentee Ballot Application and submit it to Town Clerk Kayla Adkins.

2024 Commissioner Candidates:

Below is a list of the four (4) candidates in alphabetical order running for two (2) commissioner seats, each having a three-year term. On election day, registered voters may vote on the ballot for up to two (2) candidates regardless of filing status.
In accordance with the Town Charter, a minimum of four (4) resident Commissioners must preside on the Board of Commissioners. A maximum of three (3) nonresidents may also serve. A minimum of one (1) resident commissioner will be elected based on the current composition of the Board of Commissioners.
